Meryam Bouadjemi is an Algerian-American Filmmaker, Academy Award-shortlisted Producer and Consultant based in Baltimore and Los Angeles.

Meryam is the Creator and Executive Producer of a limited comedy-drama currently in development at Warner Brothers under her production banner, Tambourine Pictures.

Previously, Meryam was the sole Baltimore producer on Charm City, the critically acclaimed feature documentary. Charm City premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2018, was shortlisted for an Academy Award and was compared to “the searing emotional depth of The Wire” in the Hollywood Reporter. Meryam started her industry career as an Impact Producer for the Emerson Collective.

Meryam is an expert in identifying and developing creative talent. A sought after consultant and industry leader, Meryam has served as a senior advisor at the Sundance Episodic Lab, FX’s Creator Incubator (in development via Diversity Hire), and is currently supporting the Pillars Artist Fellowship (in partnership with Riz Ahmed and Left Handed Films)--the industry’s premier creative development experience for Muslim Writers and Directors. She is the founder of New Market Discovery.

Meryam is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business and the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC. For her thesis, Meryam earned The Robert S. Ferguson Marketing Award, the program’s top honor. She now serves on the Stark Program’s Advisory Board alongside Stacey Sher, John Wells, David Kramer, Robert Greenblatt, John August, Melissa Rosenberg, Charlotte Koh and Stephen Love. Meryam is a member of the Maryland Film Commission.
